Our Philosophy
- Sport is a universal language, which is understood by many people all over the world and which we can use to communicate the Gospel. 1 Cor. 9:19-23 "Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings."
- Everything that God has created is good. We don't see sport as a "secular" act. We don't distinguish between the "so-called" secular and sacred acts. 1 Tim 4:4 "For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,"
- We are called to do good works in Christ Jesus in everything we do including sport. Eph 2:10 "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
- We can glorify God by using our abilities and creativity (work) that God has given us and in relationships, through sport. Gen 2:15,18 The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and take care of it….the LORD God said, "It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."
- We believe that through sporting activities we can fulfill the great commandment. Matt 22:37-39 "Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.'"
